Friday The 13th The Game Is Shutting Down Its Servers
By Alleef AshaariVerified|November 4, 2020|0 Comment
After three years, Friday The 13th The Game will be shutting down its dedicated servers after one final update. Publisher Gun Media lead community developer Matt Shotcha announced on the official game’s forums today that the final patch will arrive sometime in November 2020, after which dedicated servers for the game will be taken offline.
However, fans don’t need to worry about losing access to the game, as it will still be playable via Quick Play, which will continue to function via peer to peer matchmaking even after the final update and closing down of dedicated servers.
This is because the game’s database servers will remain in place so that players can still play the game, and that includes private matches.
In a tweet, Friday The 13th The Game co-creator Wes Keltner said:
We fought to keep dedicated servers for as long as possible, but I think we all felt this day was coming. Doesn’t make it any easier, though. To the strangers that became friends, to the bonds forged at camp, and the Chad’s thrown through a window, we appreciate all of you. <3 https://t.co/hZcxMbPThN

Friday the 13th: The Game has stopped receiving new content since 2018, due to an ongoing legal dispute between the original 1980 movie’s director Sean S. Cunningham and Friday The 13th scriptwriter Victor Miller. That’s also why we haven’t received any new movies since the 2009 remake.
While the Friday The 13th The Game forums will also be shutting down along with the dedicated servers, the game will remain available for purchase and issues with the game can still be reported via the dedicated website JasonKillsBugs.com.Â
