Earth Defense Force 5 Dropping In Summer
Finally we are able to understand why we are shooting at these aliens in the first place.
Sony Interactive Entertainment Hong Kong Limited Limited Singapore Branch (SIES) today announced that the “EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 5†by D3 PUBLISHER, which is currently only available in Japanese will be available in traditional Chinese, Korean and English versions for the PlayStation 4 and will be released this summer. When? Well the presser we received only said summer; which narrows it to between June and September. Helpful? Hardly. But come on – ain’t it great to at least know that the days of make-belief and pretending that we understand the EDF plot is almost over?Â

The latest title in the EARTH DEFENSE FORCE series, expect a brand new depiction of humanity’s fight against alien invaders from outer space (duh).  With four soldier classes and over 1,000 types of weapons to choose from, EDF5 will come with over 100 missions - a franchise record. As if that’s not enough, additional mission pack released earlier in Japan will become available for these three new languages as well.
All missions support multiplayer gameplay for up to 4 players and features offline split-screen co-op. So that’s one more reason for you to invest on a huge-ass TV screen.Â
On top of that news, to help you prepare yourself for EDF5, the PlayStation store is offering up to 70% discount on Earth Defense Force 4.1. This limited offer ends on the 18th of April. So grab that offer while you can – if you’re into the EDF franchise.
Meanwhile, we will be pestering the good folks who sent us the presser for the exact date of EDF5’s release, so stay tuned.
