This Castlevania Doom Mod Is Anything But A Miserable Pile Of Secrets

The 1993 Doom is the gift that keeps on giving, even in 2021 when the world is still not yet sane. So it’s good to know that there’s a noteworthy Doom mod worth playing, featuring Konami’s Castlevania series.
The Doom mod is called Castlevania: Simon’s Destiny, and it’s a 2D first-person game using the Doom engine. Except that you’re Simon Belmont and you use whips, axes, and magic pocketwatches instead of guns. You still fight hell’s army, but of the Universal Monsters variant and with the covers of Castlevania music playing in the background. It’s made in the GZDoom engine by Andrea Gori, who clearly knows Castlevania.
