Rocket League Is Going Mobile With Sideswipe
By Alleef AshaariVerified|March 25, 2021|0 Comment
Rocket League developer Psyonix has announced Rocket League Sideswipe, a new mobile game version of their popular multiplayer car soccer game. It is slated to release for Android and iOS sometime in 2021.
Rocket League Sideswipe will take the core, competitive gameplay of Rocket League and reimagine it for mobile. In this mobile game, players will compete from a new perspective on the field in 1v1 or 2v2 matches. Games will be fast-paced, two-minute matches that you can play with friends.
In addition, it will feature mobile controls that are easy to pick up whether you’re a master of Rocket League or a new player still learning your way around the field. There will also be advanced mechanics, just like Rocket League, for those who want to climb the Competitive Ranks.
In the garage, Rocket League Sideswipe will have robust car customization similar to Rocket League. Players can also expect an online Ranking system for competitive play.
Psyonix is targeting a worldwide launch for Rocket League Sideswipe sometime later this year on iOS and Android as a free-to-play game. Starting today, players in Australia and New Zealand will be able to join a limited-time Regional Alpha test on Android via the Google Play Store. Future betas in additional regions will be announced in the coming months.
Previously, Rocket League on consoles and PC went free-to-play back in September 2020 last year.
