Battlefront 2 *MIGHT* Actually Allow You To Customize Your Characters

As reported on VG247, a data miner may have stumbled upon the potential of allowing players to customize their characters in the now-infamous Star Wars: Battlefront II. According to the YouTube video by user Uninspired Zebra, players playing as Galactic Empire soldiers are able to pick specific skins or armor camouflage and pattern for their character across different maps and battlefields while on the side of the Rebel Alliance, players are able to even change the races of their characters when applicable.

They also posted more pictures of it on Imgur as well in case you want to have a look at customization options for Twi’leks and Quarrens. This is a definite welcomed move for the game following the shitstorm and negative press it attracted since launch which include, but not limited to; micro transactions, micro transactions, micro transactions, mediocre single player mode, weak AI in the single player mode, uninspiring characters and micro transactions. All of these obviously led to a ton of backlash from the gaming community and even Disney stepped in, telling EA to buckle up.

However, the development above (re the skins customizations) may just be a red herring (we hope it isn’t) since yesterday, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen, claimed that they could not include a wide variety of customisation options in Battlefront 2 because it might betray Star Wars canon.

“It’s an amazing brand that’s been built over many, many years, and so if you did a bunch of cosmetic things, you might start to violate the canon”, he said.

EH?

Perhaps he forgot about this abomination.

Anyway, hope the news about customizable skins come true as it, theoretically a step in the right direction for EA in regards to how they handle the Battlefront 2 franchise. It isn’t a total solution but surely a redeeming move for them as they seek to close out the year on a high.
