Boston Uprising Loses Coach to San Francisco Shock

The Boston Uprising has announced the departure of their coach, Dae-hee “Crusty” Park who joined San Francisco Shock as Head Coach. After guiding the team to a perfect 10-0 record in Stage 3 which was also part of their record-setting 15-match unbeaten streak stretching all the way to Stage 2, Crusty was “was granted permission to explore new opportunities and will join the San Francisco Shock prior to the beginning of Stage 4.” read Uprising’s official statement.

“Crusty has been an instrumental part of the Uprising coaching staff and organization as a whole. We’re grateful for the dedication and effort put forth by Crusty during his time here. We’re happy to have helped him find a new home where he can continue to thrive.” it added.

The arrival of the Korean-born coach to San Francisco meant the departure of Shock’s Head Coach til the end of Stage 3, Brad Rajani whose role will be filled by Crusty.

“I am excited to be joining the SF Shock organization” said Crusty.  “I am grateful to have the opportunity to make an impact on another team in the Overwatch League”.

Crusty managed to build a solid team from a band of mostly nobodies prior to the Overwatch League at Uprising and if he somehow manages the same at Shock, who are laden with household names, it would surely increase the chances of him being picked as head coach for the Overwatch World Cup South Korean team.

The Shock are also bringing in NRG Contenders Head Coach Bumhoon “Ninek” Kim who was previously the Rox Orcas Head Coach for Apex Challengers Season 3 and Apex Season 4.

After finishing Stage 3 6-4, the Shock who are in ninth are looking much more like a solid unit and we fancy seeing them fighting for a top-6 finish come season end. The league is on a short break before resuming matches in about ten days time.
