E3 2018: Tetsuya Nomura Breaks Silence On FFVII Remake

While Square Enix fans are happy with the recent reveals of Kingdom Hearts III, they are still wondering if they’ll ever talk about that one other anticipated game they teased back in E3 2015 on the PlayStation press conference. We are referring to the spikey-haired Buster Sword-wielding elephant in the room: the Final Fantasy VII Remake.

We’ve got some public info about it. According to a report on The Verge, Square Enix director Tetsuya Nomura said that the game is still in development. “We are developing [Final Fantasy VII] in parallel [with Kingdom Hearts III], and it’s not just in the early concept stages. We are actually in development.”

Furthermore, the developer said that he was giving equal treatment and dev time to both FFVIIR and KHIII. “[…]I’ve been putting in 100 percent into Kingdom Hearts, 100 percent into Final Fantasy VII, 100 percent into Kingdom Hearts…just going back and forth. It’s just like [working on] two titles is just going to be one after Kingdom Hearts III’s launch]. That’s pretty much how I see it.”

That’s that; guess every Final Fantasy fan can now rest assured that its development is anything but troubled. We’ll still give it until Wawasan 2020 release state-wise.
