Chrono Trigger Is Japan’s Best Game Of All Time, According To This Poll

It’s good to see a game like Chrono Trigger getting more acclaim and praise 24 years later. According to a Famitsu poll (via Siliconera), the Squaresoft JRPG was voted the best game in the Heisei period.

This was followed by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and NieR: Automata at 2nd and 3rd place respectively. The poll had 7,158 readers participating in it.

Here’s what Famitsu readers are saying about the aforementioned games:

NieR: Automata (205 votes)

For context, Japan is transitioning from the Heisei period into the Reiwa period starting 1st May 2019. The Heisei period started in 8 January, 1989.

In addition, Square Enix is releasing a Chrono Trigger Original Soundtrack Blu-ray music disc on 10 July. The Blu-ray will feature 60 songs with videos of iconic moments and memorable scenes from the title.

Sounds cool! The best part? The bundle will also have a traditional soundtrack in mp3 form. It’s available for pre-ordering now at Square Enix’s e-store and Amazon Japan.
