Today’s news and stories are full of twists. One story is that the classic Earthworm Jim is coming, but to a console I’ve never heard of, and now this.

The Razer Toaster will finally be designed and made. Congratulations, you mad lads of the internet, especially this Facebook page ‘Give us the Razer Toaster‘. You’ve done it.

What began five years ago as a running gag is now coming to fruition. It all started in an interview when a person asked Razer CEO, Min-Liang Tan if they could create a toaster. With the internet’s persistence, Min-Liang Tan agreed.

When the Facebook group proposed the outrageous idea of a toaster, Tan said they would agree only and if only the group reaches 1 million likes on Facebook. Tan also said that the toaster will receive the same quality and effort as the other Razer peripherals to make it the ‘ultimate toaster’.

It’s been several years since then and the page is stagnant at 45,000 likes, but the group made another deal with Tan. The deal is to count a fan tattoo of a Razer Toaster equal to 100,000 likes. They managed to get 12 fans with Razer Toaster tattoos to surpass the goal of 1 million.

Of course, they had to do that, and Min-Liang Tan had to say something about it;

Alright – I didn’t think these guys were going to make it – but they did. It was to hit 1M likes and with each Razer Toaster tattoo being equivalent to 100K likes each….and they now have 12 Razer Toaster tattoos.

Well….what can I say. I’ve just officially liked their page – and I’m going to put together my team of designers and engineers. It will take a few years – but I’ll be sure to share the progress – and make it a community affair.
