Next Yakuza Game Details Out Next Month

The Yakuza franchise is far from over, with tomorrow’s release of spinoff title Judgment and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio gearing up for the next instalment in the long-running series. Speaking with Gamebase at the Yakuza 5 PS4 launch event in Taiwan, Yakuza producer Daisuke Sato discussed the upcoming new Yakuza game.

According to Sato, more information on the next Yakuza game starring Ichiban Kasuga will be revealed next month on 10 July 2019. When asked about whether series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu will appear in the new instalments, this is what he said:

“At this time, that is not a question I can answer.

On July 10, we will announce the supporting actress for the new title, as well as share the latest information on the new title, so please look forward to it.”

For those unfamiliar with the character Ichiban Kasuga, he is the protagonist of Yakuza Online and is set to be the main protagonist for the franchise from now on. 2018’s Yakuza 6: The Song Of Life was the last game in the franchise to feature Kazuma Kiryu as the main protagonist. Last we checked, we gave it a great review!

The new supporting actress will play the role of Ichiban Kasuga’s partner in the upcoming new Yakuza game. Stay tuned on Kakuchopurei for more news in the future!
