Beautiful Pixel Art And Intricate Mechanics In This Free Adventure Game

In today’s microtransactions-filled climate, indie games are like rays of hope in a dark cavern. No fluff gameplay that’s often coupled with touching narratives, that’s what they usually offer. Atma seems to be just that and it’s completely free.
Just 295MB large, the game can be downloaded from its itch.io page here. Obviously this isn’t one of those games you’ll be losing weeks playing but it’s pretty much perfect as a “rest game”. The average session is supposed to last just around half an hour. Take a break from those big AAA titles and relax with something light but beautifully made.
You play as Shaya, a “guardian of the unseen” and you go on a quest to recollect the fragments of deceased lover’s memories so that he can find peace in death. In doing so, she will have to make difficult decisions which might go against her vows as a guardian. It’s up to you to make those decisions.
The game seems to have been inspired by Capcom’s beloved Okami as well as other popular games such as Zelda. You’ll have to slow down time and draw lines to defeat enemies and you’ll gain other abilities which will help you solve puzzles.
The game is developed by a group of creatives calling themselves Team Atma and you can leave comments for them on the game’s itch.io page.
