Gran Turismo PS5 Is Already In Development

The Gran Turismo racing game franchise has been a PlayStation exclusive stronghold since 1997 and that’s going to continue with Sony’s next-gen console. While GT Sport was pretty much considered a low point for the franchise, developer Polyphony Digital is planning a comeback.
In an interview with gtplanet, Gran Turismo series creator Kazunori Yamauchi said that elements of GT Sport will be evident in the upcoming new Gran Turismo game for the PS5, whether it be Gran Turismo 7 or GT Sport 2.
“I think in terms of races themselves and physics GT Sport has really reached the best place that we’ve ever reached – we’re at a very good place.
On the other hand, obviously we’re working on the next Gran Turismo already, and the world of sport we’ve achieved through GT Sport is something I’ve always imagined to be the future of Gran Turismo.
We were able to establish that now.â€
However, Yamauchi isn’t forgetting the past installments of Gran Turismo, which many fans still fondly remember. The lack of a singleplayer experience and always-online mechanic in GT Sport were lamented by many fans.
“I think the next title that we’re going to create will be a combination of the past, present, and future – a complete form of Gran Turismo.”
Gran Turismo 7 or GT Sport 2 will also be utilizing more VR tech than ever before.
“The first thing that’s going to be affected by more power is VR.
I don’t think that there’s anything else that requires that much processing power.
I really like VR; I’m one to believe in the possibilities of it, and it’s very suited for a driving game.”
From the sound of it, Gran Turismo 7 or GT Sport 2 is all but confirmed for the PS5.
