Journey Devs To Release Next Game On Mobile First

Game developers Thatgamecompany has quietly released its follow-up to the phenomenal Journey (2013) with Sky: Children Of The Light. Their new game is out now on iOS devices, but it will be coming to Android next, with other platforms like PC and consoles to follow suit in the future.

In Sky: Children Of The Light, the developer will be delving into a more multiplayer-focused territory, as the game once again features heavy elements of exploration and puzzle-solving, just like Journey.

Despite being released on mobile platforms first, Sky: Children Of The Light doesn’t look like any typical mobile game. The graphics are a beauty to behold, and the music is heavenly.

It is available as a free-to-play game on the Apple App Store, though it does feature in-app purchases and microtransactions worth up to US$49.99. This includes what seems like a season pass system of sorts.

Meanwhile, Android users can pre-register now on the Google Play Store, though there’s no official release date yet. Gamers on other platforms will eventually receive the game too, but there’s no telling how long it will take for Sky: Children Of The Light to launch on their respective platforms.

In the meantime, check out the Adventure gameplay promo trailer for Sky: Children Of The Light below and soak in the majesty.
