Something Stormy This Way Comes For Anthem Players

For the two months or so, nothing has been happening in Anthem. For a game that’s supposed to be employing a games-as-a-service model, Bioware‘s Destiny clone should be pumping out new content for its loyal player base (or what’s left of it anyway).

With nothing else to do but frolic around in the game’s vast but empty and meaningless world, players have started to discover strange things afoot in the game. Stuff that wasn’t there in the first place, like a spaceship hovering around in the sky.

A Reddit user named Bower shared the image and exact coordinates of that mysterious ship in the sky with Kotaku, which prompted the site’s writer Ethan Gach to investigate the matter. He went there to find this spaceship, but instead finds something way more ominous in its place.

What Gach discovered was a raging storm in the distance where the spaceship was said to occupy. The swirling mass of angry electrical sparks can now be seen by every Anthem player. They’re speculating that the brewing storm is portending the upcoming Anthem Cataclysm event, we still have little to no information about when it will be starting.

After delays and setbacks, Anthem players are anxious for the next big event in the game to begin. If Bioware and EA keep stalling and teasing without anything to show for it, they may lose the already-dwindling number of players they have left.

Twitter user @JAK80014 is one of many Anthem players who have posted pictures of the mysterious phenomena on social media. Check them out below.
