[Report] PlayStation’s Upcoming State of Play & PlayStation Gathering Dates Confirmed
By Kenn Leandre|August 13, 2019|0 Comment
If the rumour is to be believed, Sony PlayStation’s State of Play event will be filled with tons of huuuuuuuge top-tier gaming news that’ll rock the gaming scene to the core.
According to an alleged leak as reported on Neogaf, the State of Play video showcase, scheduled for 1st November, will involve the launch trailers for two highly anticipated titles: Death Stranding and The Last of Us Part II. First unveiled at E3 2019, Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order complete the trio of titles which headline this State of Play instalment.Â
However, don’t expect even a whiff of Ghost of Tsushima as the title isn’t on the menu this time around. Apparently, despite all the progress the development of the game has been going, it also encountered some ‘considerable delays’ which are mostly related to texture and frame rates issues – problems which may be solvable through the upcoming PlayStation 5.
As a result, all marketing strategies and focus will be channelled towards promoting Death Stranding and The Last of Us Part II – two titles we assume would be the marquee sendoff titles for the outgoing PlayStation 4 system.
Speaking of the PlayStation 5, a meeting involving major publishers such as EA, Ubisoft, Activision and Square Enix is set to take place on 12th February next year. While the full details of this meet is yet to be confirmed, rumour has it that its contents will primarily discuss Sony’s plans in regards to the next-gen gaming console.
Lastly, the PSVR2 prototype which has shown ‘excellent results’ recently was also discussed. Word has it that the marketing team are currently planning for a marketing presentation of the device ahead of the start of the 2021 fiscal year.
Despite this being just an alleged slew of leaks, it’s still great news for Sony fans.
