[Report] Overwatch 2 Set To Be Revealed At BlizzCon

As more leaks surrounding the debut of Overwatch 2 keep trickling down our newsfeed, we’re greeted with yet another alarming piece of news. ESPN Esports has reported that Overwatch 2 will finally be unveiled at BlizzCon 2019.

The news comes from esports consultant Rod “Slasher” Breslau who reports that he received the information from a BlizzCon source and a BlizzCon training document. All signs point towards Overwatch 2 being a major content update with new game modes and a new hero rather than a full-fledged sequel, not unlike Fortnite – Chapter 2.

One particularly important piece of information is Slasher’s confirmation of Overwatch 2‘s logo which is accurate to what recent leaks have shown.

There were earlier reports of Overwatch 2 having a four-player PVE mode akin to Left 4 Dead. Slasher’s sources seem to indicate that that’s pretty much confirmed. The PVE mode will apparently take place in Rio de Janeiro, Lucio’s hometown. There will also be a new PVP mode called “Push” which will be set on a new map based in “Toronto”, according to the training document.

It’s expected that BlizzCon attendees will be able to try out the new PVE game mode this weekend. Artwork in the training document also suggests that Overwatch‘s 32nd hero, Echo, will be officially revealed at BlizzCon. So there’s definitely a lot to look forward to if you’re an Overwatch fan.

With so many leaks suggesting the reveals of highly anticipated titles such Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4, perhaps Blizzard does have a decent chance of making everyone temporarily forget about what happened to Hong Kong Hearthstone player Chung “blitzchung” Ng Wai. Of course, that’s assuming people don’t turn up at BlizzCon as protesters.

Update: we have more pictures of the game’s PvE mode via Twitter user forer0:
