Taiwan Excellence Concept Store & Pantheon Esports Club Now Open
By Burhanudin Zamri|December 10, 2019|0 Comment
2020 is definitely looking up to be an exciting year for esports in Malaysia as the country prepares to execute more robust plans outlined in the Youth and Sports Ministry’s 2020-2025 Esports Blueprint. For the folks living in Nilai, they’ve received not one, but two awesome new additions in their backyard.
The first-ever Taiwan Excellence Concept Store and Pantheon Esports Club have just opened in MesaMall Nilai. A grand opening ceremony was held on 10 December 2019 complete with representatives from Taiwan Excellence, Pantheon Esports, BenQ, Thermaltake, Acer Predator, and other partners. The stores are located side-by-side on the first floor of MesaMall.
The choice of location will seem strange at first seeing as how most people would assume something of this scale should be set up somewhere within the Klang Valley area. However, opening up more esports centres and computer stores in other parts of Malaysia will ensure that access to esports isn’t just limited to central Malaysia.
When Hasnul Hadi Samsudin, vice president of Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) spoke at the recent WESG 2019-2020 Asia Final press conference at Sunway Lagoon, he mentions that getting esports to penetrate into rural and less urbanised areas is one of the goals he wants to achieve.
The Taiwan Excellence Concept Store is operated by Brightstar Computer Gaming and also offers custom computer building services on top of selling computer components. The store’s catalogue includes components and peripherals from brands such as MSI, Thermaltake, BenQ, ADATA, Acer, ASUS, and many others.
Take a look at what the store looks like inside:
What you Nilai folks should really be excited about is the Pantheon Esports Club. Aside from the usual cybercafe offerings, there are also dedicated streamer rooms with high-end microphones and webcams.
Couples who just want to have some fun playing games can also use a couple’s booth. In the mood for console gaming instead? No problem, they even have PS4 stations complete with bean bags.
If you’re looking for something different, check out the VR Zone and Racing Zone. The VR games are even hooked up to a second monitor so that your friends can watch you flounder around in another realm. Racing games enthusiasts will no doubt enjoy Pantheon’s dedicated racing setup.

As more of these esports centres and computer stores open up around Malaysia, it becomes more apparent that the esports fever in the country is just getting started. It’s also good to see outside investors showing confidence in the local market. Let’s just hope that the government and local esports community will continue to be supportive of the industry.
