Mobile Legends Professional League MY/SG Returns For Season 5

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) MY/SG Season 4 concluded several months ago, with Singaporean team Evos Esports SG emerging as champions. Moonton has announced that MPL MY/SG will be returning with Season 5 soon.

With a whopping US$100,000 (RM414,000) total prize pool, MPL MY/SG Season 5 will be open for registration to all aspiring teams from 20 January to 2 February 2020. An official registration form will be made available starting from 20 January 2020 on the official Facebook page.

The Malaysian qualifiers will commence from 7 to 9 February 2020, while the Singaporean qualifiers will take place from 15 to 16 February 2020. Two (2) Malaysian teams and one (1) Singaporean team will progress to the Regular Season of the tournament.

Beginning from 29 February 2020, the 6-week round-robin Regular Season will see the return of seven (7) directly-invited teams from the MPL MY/SG Season 4 Playoffs, with four (4) teams coming from Malaysia and three (3) from Singapore.

An update to the rulebook this season will allow direct entry to invited teams as long as they retain 50 percent of their roster (3 out of 6 players). The upcoming Regular Season will continue to utilise the differential point system that was introduced in Season 4.

Teams will be ranked based on the number of best-of-three matches won, and in the event of a tiebreaker, the win-loss differential (number of games won excluding the number of games lost) will be considered. The higher the differential number, the higher a team will rank.

Top eight teams from the Regular Season standings will get to compete in the Season 5 Playoffs, which will take place on 18 and 19 April 2020.
