Monster Hunter World Reaches Monstrous New Sales Milestone

Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter World has reached yet more sales milestones. Monster Hunter World expansion Iceborne sales have exceeded four million units, while sales for the base game alone have already surpassed a whopping 15 million.

That achievement makes Monster Hunter World the best-selling single title in Capcom history (via GamesIndustry.biz). Meanwhile, Devil May Cry V sold a total of 2.1 million units last year, and Resident Evil 2 sold 4.2 million copies. Lifetime sales of the Resident Evil franchise have now surpassed an impressive 91 million.

I have no idea how a game like Monster Hunter World can sell so many copies without a decent plot or narrative, but it’s just not my cup of tea. In the meantime, head on over here for some Monster Hunter-themed glasses. I’m not kidding about that.
