[Rumour] We Might Be Getting That Wonderful 101 Port For Switch After All…
Right after Nintendo announces the windfall sales numbers of Astral Chain and a bunch of other top tier Nintendo Switch titles, PlatinumGames came up with this pretty quick tease. Possibly for one of the most-requested Wii U port.
Scenes from the PG office! Who's that photobombing Hideki Kamiya? pic.twitter.com/D70oalUTKo

For those who don’t know, that’s Hideki Kamiya of Devil May Cry/Bayonetta/The Wonderful 101 fame. The person who is photobombing him is Hiroshi Shibata, the lead designer for, surprise surprise, The Wonderful 101.
And we’re pretty sure the Switch on the right side of the photo is purposefully using the blue and lemon green JoyCon to signify the colours of heroes Wonder-Blue and Wonder-Green. Kamiya himself is wearing a red shirt, which is probably a nod to Wonder-Red. You know, from The Wonderful 101. It’s probably a huge, huge coincidence.
On a related note, here’s what renowned video game analyst Daniel Ahmad predicted on Twitter concerning PlatinumGames’ funding from Tencent.
With Platinum Games having secured an investment from Tencent, which will allow the company to pursue a multi platform strategy for self developed IP, we should start to hear more about what they’ve been working on soon. https://t.co/2a7e2UDXdz

“Self developed IP” like, oh say, The Wonderful 101? Again, probably a coincidence. We’ll just have to wait for an official statement soon enough.
In case you need a refresher, The Wonderful 101 is an isometric action game where you control a flash mob squad of superheroes who can form into weapons to fight off an alien army. Just like most PlatinumGames titles, it’s pretty f***ing insane.
