A New Samurai Jack Game Will Be Made By Ex-Ninja Gaiden Devs

Got to get back indeed. Adult Swim Games and Japanese devs Soleil Games will be creating a new 3D action game based on the Samurai Jack animated series.

Called Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time, the game’s timeline is set before Jack’s final fight with the evil shapeshifter Aku. Our samurai hero needs to fight through different timelines before he battles Aku in 3D hack-and-slash gameplay featuring a ton of weapons.

The game’s script is handled by series head writer Darrick Bachman, but what’s interesting is that developers Soleil Games are made up of ex-Team Ninja devs. You know, the guys behind the Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive franchise.

The game is slated for a Summer 2020 release for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Check out the trailer below (via IGN):

More details will be revealed in a PAX East panel this 28th February. It looks sharp so far; let’s hope that the game features a New Game+ with a harder difficulty level ala Ninja Gaiden 2 for non-casual action connoisseurs like myself.
