2017’s brilliant action RPG NieR: Automata is currently on sale for 50% off on the PlayStation store. Typically RM169 on the PlayStation Store, the 50% discount knocks down the Game of the YoRHa Edition to RM84.50.

If that somehow doesn’t sound enticing enough, try director Yoko Taro pitch, which basically translates to: “Your waifu is finally 50% off!!” I guess it’s up to our interpretation as to whether he means 2B or A2.

Android waifus aren’t the only thing NieR: Automata has going for it though. The hack-and-slash combat, while regarded as being simpler than typical Platinum Games fare, is smooth and stunningly stylish. Bullet hell elements and switches in perspective help to craft the gameplay’s unique identity.

The open-world isn’t the best out there and, being post-apocalyptic, can often look drab, but it’s not lacking in atmosphere. Despite bouncing off the philosophical themes, I still found the story to be an absorbing journey that glued me to my seat. The soundtrack (which is also 50% off) is incredible, to say the least.
