Ubisoft Bumps Beyond Good And Evil 2 Release Date Out Of 2020
By Alleef Ashaari|February 7, 2020|0 Comment
A prequel to the 2003 cult classic, Beyond Good And Evil 2 was initially announced at E3 2017. It’s been almost three years since then, and Ubisoft has yet to give any significant updates on the game. Until now, that is.
In the company’s third-quarter earnings call earlier today, an investor asked CEO Yves Guillemot about whether or not the highly-anticipated game was part of Ubisoft’s plans for the next fiscal year, which is slated to end on April 2021.
He replied (via GamesIndustry.biz):
“It’s not going to be in the five games we will announce.”
That is because Ubisoft has already confirmed that they will be releasing five AAA titles in the next fiscal year, three of which includes Gods & Monsters, Rainbow Six Quarantine, and Watch Dogs: Legion. The remaining two have yet to be confirmed, but it is rumoured that they include new entries in the Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry franchises.
Three of the confirmed AAA games mentioned above will launch between September 2020 and December 2020, while the remaining two will be releasing sometime between January and March 2021.
It looks like early to mid-2020 will be mostly devoid of any major Ubisoft games. Perhaps the company is seeking to capitalize on the 2020 holiday season, which is when the next-gen consoles will be officially launching later this year.
