1) Gokushufudou (Oono Kousuke)

There aren’t enough stories that romanticize a man and his castle. This glorious story of a legendary yakuza exiting the business to become a househusband is nothing short of hilarious, passionate and details all the good things in healthy relationships: loyalty, trust and respect.

2) Chotto Ippai! (KAYOU)

Momiji starts working part-time at an izakaya, a traditional Japanese pub. A heart-warming story about work, community and learning to rely on others.

3) Sweetness and Lightning (Amagakure Gido)

Inuzuka is a single dad with a toddler. Before the death of his wife, their family enjoyed her home-cooked meals, and Inuzuka now copes and remembers her by learning to cook for their precious daughter. He ends up learning to cook with Kotori, a student at his school whose mum is a renowned celebrity chef.

4) Yakumo-san wa Ezuke ga Shitai (Satomi U)

Yakumo is a very young widow who spends her days feeding the high school boy next door. He’s a growing baseball kid, and he eats up EVERYTHING she makes. A curious story of finding fulfilment from helping others.

5) Shinmai Shimai no Futari Gohan (Hiiragi Yutaka)

Two girls suddenly become sisters when their parents remarry. The older sister is bright and cheerful but the younger one is awkward and shy. The new sisters found a way to bond together in the kitchen and over the dining table. A lovely tale of acceptance, understanding and gentle family love.
