Doom Eternal Rips & Tears Franchise’s Opening Weekend Sales Record
By Alleef Ashaari|March 26, 2020|0 Comment
Doom Eternal is not only a hell-a good game, but it has also broken the franchise’s record for opening weekend sales (via VG247).
According to the good folks at Bethesda, Doom Eternal sales figures over its opening weekend (21 to 22 March 2020) were impressively double the launch revenue of 2016’s Doom four years ago.
However, the company neglected to reveal any exact sales figures, or even how many copies of the game have been sold to date. What we do know is that Doom Eternal was also the best-selling title on Steam for the past week, with over 100,000 concurrent players (which is over twice as high as the peak of 2016’s Doom at 44,271).
Doom Eternal was originally supposed to launch in November 2019 but was pushed back to March 2020. It is now available for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. In the meantime, check out our full review of the game here.
