Gundam Narrative Is Free To Watch (For Three Days)

The Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative movie is currently free to watch on GundamInfo’s YouTube channel, thanks to their renewal campaign. It’s only available from March 13 to March 16, 12pm (JST) though, so be quick to catch it if you haven’t already.

The Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt: December Sky and Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt: Bandit Flower OVAs are also available for a limited time, though they’ll be on the channel for a while longer. You can watch them from now till March 31, 12pm (JST).

As part of the campaign, you can also get free wallpapers by registering with Gundam.info. Again, this is time-exclusive, and the offer will expire on March 27, 12pm (JST).

Gundam Narrative is set a year after Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. Laplace’s Box has been opened, but the world remains largely unchanged by its revelatory contents. The movie follows a new cast as the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 03 mobile suit mysteriously appears after vanishing two years prior.

Meanwhile, the Gundam Thunderbolt: December Sky and Gundam Thunderbolt: Bandit Flower are set during and after the One Year War respectively. Both center on conflicts between Earth Federation and Zeon forces, and a rivalry between two ace pilots from opposing sides. There’s also quite a bit of jazz, which is always a good thing in anime.

I watched Gundam Narrative when it screened in local cinemas, and while it doesn’t reach the heights of Gundam Unicorn and would’ve benefited from being a series, I still liked its character focus and story quite a bit. I’m not as enthusiastic about the Thunderbolt OVAs, but they’re not a bad watch.

For more Universal Century stuff, you’ll have to wait for the upcoming Hathaway’s Flash, Hopefully, it’ll get a local screening.
