CD Projekt’s Next Game Will Be Set In Witcher Universe

Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t out yet, but it looks like CD Projekt Red are already planning for their next game, which may or may not be a new Witcher game.

Using the power of Google Translate, we learned through Polish website Stooq that CD Projekt Red president Adam Kiciński had told a group of journalists that production on another game would begin as soon as Cyberpunk 2077 is completed.

It’s not stated outright that it’d be a Witcher game, and as Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmed noted, the title “Witcher 4” isn’t specified. However, the company is adamant about continuing to create games set in the Witcher universe, so it’s likely that the next game will be a Witcher follow-up of some kind.

KiciÅ„ski added that all planned games at the company will either be Witcher or Cyberpunk games, so we’ll be seeing more Cyberpunk titles in the future too. CD Projekt Red will also work on multiplayer and other additions for Cyberpunk 2077 following its release.

While I’ll maintain some skepticism until an official English statement or translation comes out, it wouldn’t be strange for the studio to go back to the Witcher universe. I’m keen on having more Cyberpunk games too, though hopefully there’ll be some smaller-scale spin-off titles that come out in less than seven years after their reveal trailer.
