Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Vikings Setting Confirmed, Trailer Coming Tomorrow

Earlier today, Ubisoft announced a surprise live stream with famous artist Bosslogic to officially reveal the setting of the next Assassin’s Creed game. The live stream followed BossLogic as he worked on a unique art piece, seemingly in real-time.

The live stream took a whopping eight hours, but BossLogic finally finished the art piece, revealing that the next Assassin’s Creed game will be set in the Vikings era and titled Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

From the looks of the Viking longboats adorned with shields in the freezing Norwegian fjord, to what looks like Viking raiders fighting Anglo-Saxons near a castle.

The game’s main protagonist remains unnamed, but he is male and is depicted wearing a fur-lined Vikings armour with a beard and hair braids. A black raven flies can be seen flying behind the main protagonist as well, which could mean something. In Norse mythology, Odin has a pair of ravens named Huginn and Muninn.

The main protagonist also wields an axe with the iconic Assassins emblem on its blade, with the emblem itself made up of two axes intersecting each other. What’s interesting here is that the castle looks suspiciously like the real-life Bamburgh Castle in Northumberland, England, which was destroyed by Vikings in 993.

The game’s first world premiere trailer will be released tomorrow at 8am PDT on 30 April 2020, or 11pm GMT+8 on 30 April 2020 for Southeasian countries like Malaysia. In the meantime, you can watch the eight-hour live stream in a three-minute timelapse video below (even though I suffered through all eight hours).

Keep your eyes peeled on the video below for the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Cinematic World Premiere Trailer tomorrow. We should expect a release date and confirmed platforms for the upcoming game, whether it will launch on just current-gen consoles or on next-gen consoles as well.
