Here’s Our First Look At The Upcoming NieR Mobile Game

Square Enix have dropped a new gameplay video for NieR Re[in]carnation, the upcoming NieR mobile game. The video was first revealed during the Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards 2019.

It’s more of a tease than an in-depth look at the mechanics since the footage simply consists of the protagonist and her flying companion traversing along a linear path. But the ruined world looks grand and mysterious, and the accompanying track continues the series’ tradition of having fantastic music. This could simply be a walking simulator and I’d still play it, probably.

According to Famitsu, Yoko Taro revealed that the game will have gacha, while director Daichi Matsukawa said that it won’t be like a mobile game and will surprise players.

NieR Re[in]carnation will be “coming soon” to iOS and Android. Here’s the first trailer.
