The Outer Worlds Is Jumping To Switch This Summer

There’s still no word on when exactly Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds will arrive on Steam. However, they’ve recently announced that the game will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch, and will do so on 5 June 2020.

“As we prepare for another arrival of new colonists, we have some very important information for those making this journey, specifically for you colonists who prefer your goods in physical form: The retail version The Outer Worlds comes on a physical cartridge, and it will be accompanied by a day one patch that could be up to 6GB.” they wrote in a post.

This patch will optimize gameplay, provide additional hi-res textures, and include other fixes to provide the employees of Halcyon with the best gameplay experience. Please ensure you have planned accordingly and have available space necessary for the patch.”

It feels a bit weird that we’re hearing about this surprise Switch release date announcement before Steam’s, but it’s still good to see the Switch get more games that we’d normally associate with other consoles and PC.

Both physical and digital versions of The Outer Worlds on Switch will cost $59.99 (RM259.54). For comparison, it costs $44.99 (RM194.64) on the Epic Games Store.

In the meantime, check out our full review of the game here.
