We Won’t Be Playing Path Of Exile 2 Until 2021

There’s a reason why Grind Gear Games is cranking out more content for the first Path of Exile: because they’re not ready to release the beta version of the sequel yet.

The developer said that players won’t be getting a Path of Exile 2 beta this year. Instead, they’ll get it in 2021. While the company wanted to push out a playable version at the end of this year, the COVID-19 pandemic made them shift their plans a bit.

Here’s the official post in full detail:

“We have been focusing on keeping our leagues coming out as close to on time as possible, and this does mean some delays for the sequel. We are looking forward to our next announcement about its upcoming content, and we’ll keep piling on any technology improvements we can make into the existing Path of Exile client.”

On the plus side, there will be more expansions coming out for the first game. Right now, you can check out the Harvest expansion which was released on 19th June.
