First Official PS5 Box Art Looks Mighty White

Sony has revealed our first look at the official box art design for physical PlayStation 5 games, and it looks… mighty plain. Instead of the blue theme and aesthetic used for PS4 box art, Sony has apparently decided to lean into the new white theme of the PS5 console and implement that for the next-gen console’s physical games.

Feast your eyes on the PS5 box art for the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which is slated to be a launch title and release sometime this Holiday 2020:

Personally, I think the PS5 box art looks weird because the physical casing is still blue, which clashes with the white theme. It would look much better if the physical case is black or white instead, which Nibel has provided some mock-ups of below:
