The Rock’s Black Adam Movie Adds An Obscure DC Hero
By Alleef Ashaari|July 17, 2020|0 Comment
DC Comics have announced more details about the upcoming Black Adam movie starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson as the titular supervillain. Jaume Collet-Serra will act as the director, while Noah Centineo (best known for starring in Netflix’s To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before) is joining the cast as a pretty obscure DC hero.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Centineo will play Atom Smasher, a character who can control his molecular structure to manipulate his size and strength. Basically, he has the ability to go big, much like how Ant-Man became a giant in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War. In the comics, he’s mostly part of the Justice Society.
You might recognize the DC hero from the Justice League animated series in the 2000s, or even from the iconic Kingdom Come graphic novel. However, this won’t be the first live-action version of Atom Smasher, as the character has previously appeared in an episode of The CW’s The Flash, played by Adam Copeland.
Not much else has been revealed about the Black Adam movie, but it is still slated to premiere on 22 December 2021.
