[Rumour] The “Weakest” Legend of Zelda Game Is Getting A Switch Re-Release

Amazon U.K. has apparently listed The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for the Nintendo Switch, albeit with no release date or other details as of yet.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword originally launched exclusively for the Nintendo Wii in November 2011. It was unique for featuring gameplay revolving around motion controls, requiring the Wii Remote, the Wii Nunchuck, and the Wii MotionPlus add-on for the full experience.

However, it was considered by many to be a black sheep of the franchise, despite garnering critical acclaim and incorporating certain elements that are even better than 2017’s The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild.

This is a surprising turn of events, considering that Nintendo denied having any plans to release the game on the Nintendo Switch. Back in November 2018, a Nintendo spokesperson told Eurogamer:

“At this time we have no plans to release The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on Nintendo Switch.”

All we can say is that plans change all the time. However, take this with a grain of salt until Nintendo officially confirms or denies the rumour. In addition, next year (2021) is The Legend of Zelda‘s 35th anniversary, which could explain the rumour as well.
