My PS4 Is Working Now After System Update 8.00
By Alleef Ashaari|October 15, 2020|0 Comment
Yesterday, Sony dropped a major update for the PlayStation 4. The PS4 system update 8.00 was supposed to be a big one, introducing changes to the party system and added new avatars.
Unfortunately for users around the world, the PS4 system update 8.00 also caused a lot of issues and problems with their consoles. These include Friends List that doesn’t work as well as a UI that freezes and lags terribly, among others.
These problems also affected me and my colleagues at Kakuchopurei. Until earlier today, that is. I booted up my PS4 today and fortunately, I discovered that the issues and problems were mostly gone or resolved.
My Friends List works now as it normally should (check out the screenshot below taken from my PS4 just before this article was written), and the UI doesn’t freeze or lay anymore (as far as I’ve tested it).
KKP head honcho Kenn Leandre also reported the same thing when he booted up his own PS4 earlier this morning; the problems and issues were gone. This lends credence to the theory that these issues and problems arose from online server problems and not just related to software introduced by the PS4 system update 8.00.
This might be good news for those who have encountered the same problems and issues from PS4 system update 8.00, or even for those who have withheld from downloading the PS4 system update 8.00 after hearing about the problems and issues.
However, this comes from my experience with my own PS4 Pro console and those of my KKP colleagues. The problems and issues might still persist for some users since PlayStation has yet to make an official announcement or confirmation about whether they have been resolved.
