Don’t Expect Halo Infinite News At The Video Game Awards 2020

The Video Game Awards 2020 is slated to take place at 8am GMT+8 on 11 December 2020. The nominees are expected to be announced later this week, and as usual, there will be lots of major game reveals.

However, now we know what not to expect; Halo Infinite. In the weekly discussion thread on the Halo subreddit, 343 Industries community director Brian Jarrard confirmed that they’re working on a community update, but that it won’t be ready in time for the VGAs.

He wrote:

“Full disclosure we don’t have anything planned for the VGAs but are hoping to offer at least a high-level update within the next few weeks so we can kind of restart this journey together after the holidays.

Putting together something like a demo or a big beat for the VGAs is an enormous amount of work and would cause challenges with the current milestones of the holidays.”

Several important people in development have left the project (including one of the directors), so it remains to be seen what state Halo Infinite is actually currently in. The game was originally supposed to launch in Holiday 2020 but has been delayed to sometime in 2021.

In the meantime, stay tuned on Kakuchopurei for all the latest news on the Xbox Series X, and check out all the latest updates and developments on all things Xbox to date here.
