Fortnite Will Be 4K 60FPS On PS5 & Xbox Series X

Epic Games has announced what to expect from Fortnite on next-gen consoles. The battle royale game will be available on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S at launch.

Here’s what you can expect from each respective console:

Fortnite On Xbox Series X/S

Starting from 10 November 2020, you can play Fortnite on the Xbox Series X/S with the following improvements:

4K 60FPS On Xbox Series X

Dynamic Visuals And Physics On Xbox Series X

Players will experience a more dynamic and interactive world with grass and trees responding to explosions, enhanced fluid simulations for smoke and liquid (cooler-looking smoke and liquid effects), and all-new Storm and cloud effects.

1080P 60FPS On Xbox Series S

Faster Loading

Loading performance has been significantly upgraded, not only improving texture loading but also helping you get into a match from game start-up much faster. 

Enhanced Split Screen

On Xbox Series X/S, Split Screen now supports 60FPS.

Fortnite On PS5

The PS5 will be launching on 12 November or 19 November 2020 depending on your country. Improvements on the PS5 include: 

4K 60FPS

Dynamic Visuals And Physics

Players will experience a more dynamic and interactive world with grass and trees responding to explosions, enhanced fluid simulations for smoke and liquid (cooler-looking smoke and liquid effects), and all-new Storm and cloud effects.

DualSense Controller Immersion

Haptic feedback will make it feel like players are holding the Suppressed SMG or Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle. In addition to general vibration support, haptic trigger feedback has been integrated for ranged weapons on the new DualSense controller.

PS5 Activity Support

Fortnite supports PS5’s Activities, starting with the ability to go straight into the Battle Royale Lobby with either Solo, Duos, or Squads selected.

Faster Loading

Loading performance has been significantly upgraded, not only improving texture loading but also helping you get into a match from game start-up much faster.

Enhanced Split Screen

On PS5, Split Screen now supports 60 FPS.

In addition, there will also be crossplay across all platforms. All progression and cosmetics will also carry over to any new platform.
