Malaysian Esports Docu-Series Jalur 14 Premieres Next Week

In collaboration with the Ministry Of Youth And Sports (KBS) Malaysia, Astro EGG Network is launching a new esports-focused docus-series; Jalur 14. It will feature insights into the Malaysian esports and games development industries.

Jalur 14 will feature guest appearances from famous esports athletes and local figures like Metronomik co-founder Wan Hazmer, streamer/esports commentator ChuChu Gaming, and more.

Earlier today, we attended a virtual press conference with Astro Head Of Sports Lee Choong Khay, Esports Integrated CEO Ahmed Faris Amir and Minister Of Youth And Sports YB Dato’ Sri Reezal Merican Naina Merican.

During the press conference, we were given a sneak peek of Jalur 14‘s first episode. It featured snippets of interviews with Wan Hazmer, ChuChu Gaming, and several esports athletes as well, including the manager of the Malaysian SEA Games 2019 esports team Firdaus ‘Masterramen’ Hashim, Dota 2 pro player Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung, and pro PUBG Mobile player Ahmad “Fredo” Fuad.

The sneak peek was only enough to give us a little taste of what each person had to say, but we were intrigued by what they had to say. There was a bit of drama infused too, but right now the biggest issue is how focused the series will be.

From the sneak peek, it looks like Jalur 14 will be covering too much on too little runtime. There will only be five episodes of the docu-series, which might not be enough to thoroughly cover the important bits. As such, it will probably only be more of an insightful look into the industries from those inside them.

The first episode of Jalur 14 will premiere on EGG Network (Astro channel 800) at 9pm on 26 November 2020.

It will also air on Astro Awani (Astro channel 501) at 10pm on 29 November 2020, and on AEC (Astro channel 346 and 306) at 7pm on 5 December 2020.
