Square Enix Launches The World Ends With You Countdown Website

Square Enix has launched a new countdown website that’s related to The World Ends With You. It teases an imminent announcement which will drop in less than seven days, on 24 November 2020.

What is it? It’s not related to the previously-announced The World Ends With You anime because that has its own official website. Plus, this new countdown website was tweeted by the official Twitter account for Square Enix 1st Production Department, which means that it must be a video game.

For those who don’t know, The World Ends With You was originally an action JRPG game that launched for the Nintendo DS in 2007. It was ported to Android and iOS devices in 2012, before receiving an enhanced port for the Nintendo Switch in 2018, dubbed The World Ends With You Final Remix.

The World Ends With You is also notable for being featured as a playable world to explore in Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, which was no surprise considering that Tetsuya Nomura is involved with both franchises.

It’s currently unclear if this new countdown website is teasing a sequel to the original game, or if it’s teasing something else entirely; like perhaps something will come out of that alleged appearance in the Kingdom Hearts 3 secret ending.

Stay tuned on Kakuchopurei.com for what will eventually be announced in less than seven days.
