Halo Infinite Designer Leaves 343 Industries

Halo Infinite designer Kolbe Payne has officially left 343 Industries. According to a recent tweet (via GameSpot), 7 January 2021 was his last day working for the developer and he is now working for Darksiders franchise developer Gunfire Games.

Previously, Payne was a campaign level/gameplay designer on Halo Infinite from April 2019 to January 2021. According to his LinkedIn page, he worked for 343 Industries on a contractual basis. Although he’s now at Gunfire Games, it’s unclear what game he’s working on as a newly-appointed junior level designer at the studio.

Gunfire Games’ last title was 2020’s Chronos: Before The Ashes for the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

The game was originally supposed to launch in Holiday 2020 but has been delayed to sometime in 2021. Payne isn’t the first to leave the project, as one of the directors also left 343 Industries last year.
