[Rumour] Battlefield 6 Will Be Cross-Gen & A Soft Reboot

It’s been a while since we last heard from EA DICE about the next entry in the Battlefield franchise. However, it looks like details may have leaked about Battlefield 6, or Battlefield VI.

According to video games industry insider Tom Henderson In a recent YouTube video, Battlefield 6 will be a “soft reboot” and influenced by 2011’s Battlefield 3, set in the modern era instead of World War 2 or other historical conflicts.

He also claims that the next Battlefield game will launch on cross-gen platforms, including the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The next-gen versions of the game will supposedly feature whopping 128-player maps but these won’t be available on last-gen consoles, which will only feature the standard 64-player matches.

It’s best to take all this with a pinch of salt, especially since EA DICE has yet to officially confirm any details about any new Battlefield game. The only thing we know for sure is that EA is planning the release window for the next Battlefield game to be sometime in Holiday 2021, which is near the end of this year. Perhaps we’ll learn more about the game in the months ahead.

If you want more details on the alleged details, you can check out Henderson’s video below:
