Cyberpunk 2077 Lead Game Designer Leaves CD Projekt Red

Andrzej Zawadzki, better known as the lead gameplay designer who has been working on Cyberpunk 2077 since 2013, will be leaving CD Projekt Red after serving nearly 8 years for the studio.

He started his gig as a QA tester for The Witcher 3 back in 2013, then became a junior gameplay designer for Cyberpunk 2077 in 2016. He was renowned for being vocal about people sending death threats during Cyberpunk 2077’s development cycle and many, many delays.

The reason for his departure? He’s taking a break and “long holidays”. It’s not an official reason, but the fact that he put in the work to make Cyberpunk 2077 work must have been an arduous task.

“After almost 8 years, my time at CDPR has come to an end. It’s time for the new adventure. To every person I’ve met on the way – thank you 🙂 It was an honor and pleasure. See you around :)”
