Melty Blood Type Lumina Features Maids & 2D Anime Fighting; Out This September
Developer French-Bread and publisher Project Lumina just released a ton of info about its upcoming 2D fighting game Melty Blood Type Lumina.
The game will be coming out on 30th September for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam). That last platform was being speculated until today’s official announcement from Project Lumina. The game will only be out in digital form for the Western market. The Deluxe Edition of the game will cost US$69.99 and will feature a digital copy of the Melty Blood guide book, and a music player featuring the game’s soundtracks old and new.
For Japan markets, the game will be available both physically and digitally for 7,480 yen. A Melty Blood Archives physical limited edition will also be available for 11,880 yen, which includes a copy of the game, Takashi Takeuchi-illustrated artwork packaging, 96-page art book featuring visuals, history, and interviews, and the three-disc Melty Blood Sound Collection.
Apart from awesome-looking 2D graphics and a revamped anime fighting system that stays true to the combo-centric nature of the series (chain combos, counters, character installs, Supers), the upcoming fighting game has also confirmed its roster as of now:
Check out the gameplay below at the 1:29 mark.
For those who don’t know, Melty Blood is a 2D fighting game basd off Type Moon’s visual novel Tsukihime. The last game, Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code, only received a worldwide Steam release by Arc System Works on 20th April 2016, 6 years after its arcade release back in 29th July, 2010. The game also features rollback netcode, which I’m sure this new sequel will sport when it’s out later this year.
