New Suicide Squad Trailer Shines Spotlight On Idris Elba’s Bloodsport

James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad has received another new trailer, but this time with even more new footage and a focus on Idris Elba’s Bloodsport.

In the new trailer, we learn more about Bloodsport, who has actually been in prison for shooting Superman with a kryptonite bullet. To motivate Bloodsport to join her Suicide Squad, Waller uses his daughter as leverage, sort of like Will Smith’s Deadshot in 2016’s Suicide Squad.

For some reason, Amanda Waller also refers to Starro The Conqueror as Project Starfish, which means that there might be more to the alien menace than we initially expected.

The full cast is as follows:

  • Idris Elba – Bloodsport
  • Margot Robbie – Harley Quinn
  • John Cena – Peacemaker
  • Viola Davis – Amanda Waller
  • Jai Courtney – Captain Boomerang
  • Joel Kinnaman – Rick Flag
  • David Dastmalchian – Polka-Dot Man
  • Daniela Melchior – Ratcatcher II
  • Sean Gunn – Weasel (mo-cap)
  • Flula Borg – Javelin
  • Nathan Fillion – TDK
  • Peter Capaldi – The Thinker
  • Pete Davidson – Blackguard
  • Alice Braga – Solsoria
  • Mayling Ng as Mongal
  • Michael Rooker – Savant
  • Storm Reid – Tyla (Bloodsport’s daughter)
  • Jennifer Holland – Emilia Harcourt
  • Juan Diego Botto – Lun
  • Sylvester Stallone – King Shark

The Suicide Squad will premiere on 6 August 2021. In the meantime, check out the new trailer below:
