Apex Legends Cross-Progression Development Disrupted By Hacks

Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends has recently been getting attacked by hackers, who recently even blocked players from accessing the battle royale. Unfortunately, this has had a negative impact on the work and development of Apex Legends’ highly-anticipated cross-progression feature.

Earlier this week, Apex Legends game director Chad Grenier replied to a question about the game’s cross-progression on Twitter.

He said:

“In development, although recent hacks on Apex and TF have slowed down the progress of it”. He added that the studio needed to “context switch to solving live game issues”.

Don’t get this confused with cross-platform play, which was already implemented in Apex Legends last year. However, players have been unable to transfer progress between accounts on different platforms and it’s going to take a while longer yet before cross-progression gets added to the game.

Apex Legends has suffered from

Apex Legends launched on Steam in November 2020 and on the Nintendo Switch earlier this year. With more platforms, there are more ways than ever before for hackers to hack into the game. Titanfall 2 was also recently targeted by hackers, who brought down the servers as recent as last night. is once again being targeted by hackers. Earlier this year, Respawn confirmed that they would crack down on hackers and cheaters.
