Sega Wants To Hear About Your Virtua Fighter Netcode Thoughts

Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown marks the first new entry in the 3D fighting granddaddy, but it has received quite a mixed reception due to its online play.

That might change. Sega recently released a new survey for owners of the game with questions on their thoughts on the updated port (via Eventhubs). The questionnaire goes through the usual gaming demographics checklist, but one bit that should be of interest is the online play section.

One of the questions ask if players are aware of what type of netcode Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown uses, or if they even know what netcode is in the first place. The next question also asks how much lag players have experienced online in the game and if it impacts their desire to play the game more.

Perhaps Sega is serious about extending VF5’s longevity, and may even upgrade the game or even a future Virtua Fighter title with rollback netcode in the future. In the meantime, you should make yourself heard by filling up the survey.

Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown is out right now and I highly recommend you play it if you’re into 3D fighting games that don’t play like Tekken. Do mind the current netcode of the game though. If you rather just watch some sweet high-level VF5 play, the official VF channel on YouTube will sort you out.
