[Report] T-Mobile Calls An End To Sponsorship For Overwatch League & CoD League
By Alleef Ashaari|August 4, 2021|0 Comment
T-Mobile was one of the biggest sponsors of the Overwatch League and Call Of Duty League. According to CharlieIntel, the company’s logo has apparently been removed from the sponsorship section of the websites for both esports leagues. You can check for yourselves at the official websites for the Overwatch League and Call Of Duty League.
Another indication that T-Mobile might have ended their sponsorship of the league is the sudden cancellation of their 5G Weekly Drop activation, where viewers could text a code to a number to enter for a chance to win bonus items such as free controllers, phones, headsets, and even a trip to CDL Champs.
It’s speculated that the removal of the sponsorship is due to Blizzard being under fire recently for sexual harassment and other problems. Amidst the company’s most tumultuous times, Blizzard president J. Allen Brack has also announced that he is officially stepping down and leaving the company.
