EVO 2021 Exclusive Offline Tournament Cancelled
If you’re hoping to see a livestream of a major fighting game tournament series play out with players in the same space, do we have some bad news for you.
The EVO 2021 Showcase in Las Vegas, dubbed as a triumphant return to form after 2020, has been cancelled. The organizers of EVO have announced this on Twitter recently.
“Due to the continuing complications of COVID-19 and the spread of the Delta variant we have made the tough decision to cancel the EVO 2021 showcase. The players invited to participate in the EVO 2021 Showcase represent many of the best fighters in the world. We’re incredibly saddened to cancel the event.”

While this year’s EVO 2021 Online was held, well, online across various regions, the Las Vegas EVO 2021 Showcase was planning on bringing in 40 pro fighting game players to compete for a US$125,000 prize pool, split across five fighting games which included Street Fighter 5, Tekken 7, and Guilty Gear Strive.
Guess fighting game fans will have to wait until 5th to 7th August 2022 for the next offline EVO tournament in Las Vegas.
