Devil May Cry Animated Series Will Feature Multiple Seasons Of Dante & Vergil
Netflix producer Adi Shankar, who is responsible for producing the pretty awesome Netflix Castlevania series, has revealed more details about the anime series based on Capcom’s Devil May Cry franchise.
He said to IGN Japan that the season 1 scripts are done thanks in part to the collaboration with scriptwriter Alex Larsen, who recently penned the script for Netflix anime series Yasuke. The DMC anime will include eight episodes and will feature a multi-season arc similar to Castlevania.
So who will be appearing in the anime? Vergil, Dante, and Lady, of course. Adi Shankar also joked that Chris Pratt won’t be voicing any of the characters.
“The entire team both from the management side and the creative side have been so incredibly supportive and gracious. Capcom producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi-san has been wonderful. It’s seriously a joy to work with Capcom. Their character library is unlike anything assembled.”
While this is fine and dandy, just remember that this is Capcom, who greenlit the recent Monster Hunter live-action film from Paul W.S. Anderson. So, tempered expectations, everyone.
