New Rurouni Kenshin Anime Reveals First Teaser

A new Rurouni Kenshin anime is officially in the works. It’s been over two decades since the original Rurouni Kenshin anime adaptation ended its run. A lot has happened since then, including the arrest of manga creator Nobuhiko Watsuki for alleged child pornography charges.

However, the franchise’s live-action movies have recently been a success (there are five of them and they’re available to watch on Netflix). The new Rurouni Kenshin anime was announced during Jump Festa 2022, which will be produced by LIDEN FILMS (the studio behind Tokyo Revengers)

Unfortunately, there are no other details about the project, or even whether it’s anime series or a bunch of anime movies. Meanwhile, you can watch the original Rurouni Kenshin anime on Crunchyroll, Funimation, Hulu, and HBO Max. It stars protagonist Kenshin Himura, who is a former samurai.
